The Marquette Golf Club hosted the 17th annual Tee Up for Tails golf outing Friday afternoon.
Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter puts on the event at the Heritage Golf Course and all of the proceeds go back to fund the animal shelter. The $100 registration cost included golfing, carts, and snacks and lunch after the scramble.
The event also included a raffle, silent auction and a chance for teams to win prizes.
"The money does go toward a good cause and we've met so many UPAWS supporters throughout the years," says volunteer Karen Rhodes. "A lot of our golfers don't care about golfing, they just want to get out and have a good time, and they're here because they support UPAWS."
Golfers even had a chance to win a 2015 Chrysler 200 from Fox Motors by getting a hole in one on a chosen hole.
Registration began at 9 a.m. and 19 teams were ready for the shotgun start at 10 a.m.
