It's a light display so good, that even Santa had to check it out.
The Carter family took first place overall in the Marquette Board of Light and Power's annual Lighting Contest. The display covers just about every inch of the family's front yard. According to the family, it took 18 years for the display to become what it is today; noting that most of that growth came within the last five years.
"Once and a while you'll pick up some vintage pieces that are really cool at a rummage sale that someone's getting rid of stuff that they've had passed down. I like the old stuff, the old school stuff," said John Carter.
Santa was there to greet folks with candy canes that were there to take a look at the giant display.
It took a little over two months to put up all of the lights.
