Upper Peninsula Power Company customers could soon be in the dark if they don't pay their bills that have been piling up this winter.
The power company reports more than 2,600 of their customers are four or more months behind in their bills. Now that winter is over, the company will be issuing disconnect notices if the customers don't take action soon.
Officials from UPPCO say, in some cases, aid is available. For more information, visit UPPCO's website.
Last year, UPPCO disconnected about 2,300 customers once spring hit.
