Tucked in the woods of Pembine is Wisconsin's only nano-brewery.
Tim and Toni Eichinger were home brewers with full-time jobs until they decided to take their passion to the next step.
"We just were looking for a way to start a business where you could take more control over your life," says husband and owner, Tim.
Their son was a sled dog racer, and although the team has since been retired, the couple felt they owed their faithful companions. The Eichingerâ??s decided to honor them by brewing up the name Black Husky Brewing.
Tim says a nano-brewery is all about quality over quantity and currently brews about 16 or 17 different types of beer.
Bennett's Roadhaus Saloon in Niagara is one of over 30 clients currently ordering Black Husky beer products. Bennett's currently has four different types of the husky beer brand including their infamous "Spruce Joose," an ale brewed with locally harvested spruce tips.
The couple says although they don't make much profit, they couldn't be happier.
"Now that I've been doing it for so long, I can't imagine not doing it," Tim says.
