Sun, 07 Jul 2013 00:43:35 GMT — Kids got a lesson in bird house building on Saturday. Tourist Park staff members in Marquette helped kids build bird houses. The park supplied all the materials. There were also snacks and a brief lesson about local birds. The family-friendly event is part of a new series of events encouraging more people to come to the campgrounds, which has also included a survival course for kids. "So people can learn that the campground is here because I have so many campers that come in saying, 'I didn't know this place existed.' I'm hoping that with these kinds of programs, I can have people learn about the campground and be, maybe, interested in camping here at some point," said Leah LaCasse, Tourist Park Campground Manager. The park's staff plans to host more events over the summer.
