A look at what goes on behind the curtain

Lake Superior Theatre is offering a technical theatre camp for kids. The camp will focus on the backstage jobs and training involved with theatre productions. The camp is for kids age 8-18 and will be lead by the LST Artistic Director and guest instructors from Northern Michigan University. Kids will learn about all the work that goes on behind the scenes.

"We've had a lot of youth who've shown interest, and so for them, this is going to kind of give them a look into how it actually happens," said LST Artistic Director Nikke Nason. "Everything that there is to know about backstage, kind of a taste of lighting and set design, stage managing, sound design, costuming."

The technical theatre summer camp begins July 15 and runs through July 19 at the Boathouse Theatre on Lakeshore Blvd. in Marquette. The cost is $75 per youth. The LST will be holding another drama camp in August, focusing on acting.
