Humboldt Township residents celebrated Labor Day with their annual bridge walk on Monday.
After local volunteers built a bridge that crosses over the pond in the park a few years ago, they decided to hold an event titled, Bridge Walk on Labor Day.
During the event, a flag raising was held and then residents took the time to thank laborers. Residents also cooked and brought in food which was later offered at the township hall. Hot dogs, fruit and desserts were just a few of the items available.
The event is held to bring people in the community closer together.
"I think it's a great way to get all our friends and neighbors all together. It's really a great time to visit with old friends and neighbors," said Humboldt Township resident Carol Mackey.
Monday marked the sixth year of the Labor Day Bridge Walk event.
