A series of presentations called Afternoons At The Museum continued Tuesday at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee.
The presenter, Daniel Fountain, did a slideshow presentation based on his book, 'Michigan Gold & Silver: Mining in the Upper Peninsula'.
The purpose of the presentation was to showcase the history of the Upper Peninsula's lesser known types of mining.
"What I'd like to show is some of the history of the lesser known mining in the Upper Peninsula, Marquette County in particular. There's a silver mine in Presque Isle that people are perhaps aware of but not too many people are aware of the real history of it." said Fountain.
Around 50 people attended the presentation.
Afternoons At The Museum continues until August 19th.
