People made their way to the Al Quaal Recreation Area for the annual community picnic Friday afternoon.
The event featured plenty of food from area vendors, live music and bouncy houses. Also going on at the picnic were a class reunion and softball games.
Organizers say this has been an Ishpeming tradition for some time.
"When people come back they like to bump into people. They live in different areas so they reunite with their classmates and this is our 35th annual picnic and we've been running it up here for forever," says organizer Paul Bonett. "It's always been a real good community fun time for everybody."
The community picnic continues through the night and wraps up with a fireworks show beginning around 10 p.m.
