The Marquette Department of Transportation held an informational public meeting Tuesday at the Ishpeming Senior Citizens Center.
MDOT officials say they wanted to have a public meeting for people to get information and have a better understanding of roundabouts and how they function.
Plans of the proposed construction for a roundabout between US-41 and Second Street in Ishpeming were also available for viewing.
MDOT officials made themselves available to answer any questions the public may have as well.
"The more that people become familiar with it and understand what the benefits are of constructing roundabouts in certain intersections, they'll see the benefits of how they can improve the community, improve highway safety, and reduce operation of delays at intersections," said Andy Sikkema, Transportation Service Manager for MDOT.
Official presentations took place at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
