The rain could not stop people from having fun at the End of Summer Blues Fest in Alpha on Saturday.
The third annual blues festival gave guests a day of music, food and fun with five bands playing all day. The Alpha Fire Department raised money selling refreshments and local vendors sold all sorts of products.
The bands played a variety of genres that was sure to please everyone in the crowd. The bands came from here in the Upper Peninsula, Wisconsin and even all the way from Arizona.
â??It is just a nice event if you are young or old, veterans, bikers, blues music, rock music, country music, it is all really goodâ?? said Bob Black, promoter for the festival. â??It is a good vibe, I donâ??t know if you can tell but it is a good vibe here.â??
A veteranâ??s freedom ride and memorial poker run from Alpha visited the Iron County Veterans Memorial to begin the day before the festivities started. The festival has grown each year and is sure to continue in the future.
