It's a place for children to learn about music at an early age. Sunday, the Chamber String Orchestra of Northern Michigan University held a Children's Concert.
The idea is to expose kids to the many different aspects of music.
Typically, concerts have audiences trained to be on their best behavior, but that wasn't necessary for this one.
"We hope to create an atmosphere where children can feel comfortable, parents can feel comfortable bringing their kids to a performance where they don't feel all hushed and quiet and everything has to be so formal," said Barbara Rhyneer, Associate Professor of Music at NMU.
The concert also gave an opportunity to musical education majors to explain music to children.
