One group in Marquette is asking the public to buy books and help support women attending college. The American Association of University Women in Marquette is holding their annual book sale at the First Presbyterian Church. Since the 1950's, the group has been holding the book sale to raise money for scholarships.
"This is one of our fundraising activities. We also have a tea that we do and Econo Slips and Yonkers booklets and things like that, but all of the money goes to scholarships for women trying to attend university," said Carolyn Myers, member of the AAUW.
All of the books at the sale have been donated throughout the year. Any paperback book is only one dollar, while any hardcover book is only two dollars.
The sale starts this evening and will run again tomorrow and Saturday.
