The annual RibFest took place in downtown Escanaba Friday afternoon. Over 150 people gathered to sample delicious ribs from five local vendors.
Some restaurants, such as Applewood Eatery, have been preparing their ribs since Tuesday. Others only began this morning.
No matter the time it took to prepare the meat, it seemed each place had a unique flavor.
It's the variety that keeps the guests coming back each year.
"Well I started down at Ludington Grille because they always have the best," says RibFest guest Drew LaVacque. "They always have the best sauce and they usually are the smokiest and they have really good cuts of meat. Next stop I went down to Crispigna's and they took them right off the grill right to the plate, you can't beat that."
The Escanaba Downtown Development Authority is already looking forward to next year's event.
