The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce is, once again, ready to bring a blast of color into the month of January.
The annual Arctic Blast Color Dash is this Saturday, and registration numbers are a little behind last year. The color dash is a 5k event where runners are hit with a harmless colored powder at stations along the race.
"You get a chance to get out, get together with your community, enjoy the winter weather. Since we have so many months of winter here, we wanted to get people out and have fun, and what's interesting is we took what's a national trend and made it Yooper style--we did it in the middle of winter," said GINCC Exective Director Kori Tossova. "Throw some snowshoes on."
The color dash is set for Saturday, and you can register until Friday at the GINCC website.
