The Stephenson man charged with armed robbery in Covington appeared in Baraga County District Court on Tuesday morning for his preliminary examination.
Donavan Lee Waupoose is facing two felony charges of armed robbery, two felony charges of extortion, one felony charge of impersonating an officer, and two felony charges of unlawful imprisonment. On Tuesday morning, he waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over to circuit court.
Waupoose was arrested at his home in Stephenson after police executed a warrant and discovered evidence of the alleged armed robbery.
He was arraigned immediately following, where he pled not guilty on all seven counts. He remains in Baraga County Jail under a one million dollar bond. His pretrial conference is scheduled in 30 days.
