Northern Michigan University will host a Holocaust Memorial Service presentation.
Lev Raphael, the child of Holocaust survivors and author, has accepted an invitation to present at various locations in Marquette County.
Raphael will speak about the effects of genocide on the following generation, as well as present on his memoir and encourage discussion. He will also visit classrooms to promote discussion.
"He speaks to the whole second generation issue that involves second generation of any genocide, the Holocaust, of course, being the most hideous," said Carol Strauss, NMU Professor of German Studies.
The presentations will take place Sunday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Marquette and Monday, April 8 at NMU's University Center at 7 p.m.
All events are free to the public.
