PORT AUSTIN, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in the Traverse City area say they found the body of a boater who disappeared over the weekend in Boardman Lake.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff Tom Bensley confirmed to the Traverse City Record-Eagle that the body was found Saturday night. The newspaper had reported that four people were engaged in towing an inner tube, but it wasn't clear what the missing person was doing.
Details including the boater's name weren't immediately released.
Meanwhile, authorities released the name of a man who died Saturday in Lake Huron after he was unable to reach a breakwater at Port Austin harbor, about 115 miles north of Detroit. WSGW-AM reports he's identified as 25-year-old Selim Mahmutovic of Hamtramck.
Authorities say he was swimming with his 23-year-old brother, who made it to land.
