Baby shower brings help to community

The 18th annual Marquette County Community Baby Shower is happening on April 19 at the Negaunee Township Hall, and it's a way to connect families with local resources.

Parents get the chance to meet with representatives from community services to get help during their pregnancy and until their baby is up to six months of age. The event is also an opportunity for parents to receive baby items they need.

"Many families are not able to have diapers for their babies or don't have clothes for their babies," said Lori Marta, organizer. "They don't have a safe sleep place for their babies."

Organizers are expecting at least 50 families to stop by, and no registration is needed. You can donate any baby items to help out at drop-off locations throughout Marquette County. Below is a list of drop-off sites.
