Work on the new Baraga County Memorial Hospital is continuing to progress ahead of schedule.
Crews are now focusing their efforts on interior finishing touches. They've begun placing ceramic tiles and put a first coat of paint on some of the walls. They've got ceiling grid up in different portions, and electricians and plumbers are completing various projects.
Construction is going so well the new facility could open a month earlier than planned.
"About once a month we do tours after work with a group of 10-15 employees," said Steve Busen, Project Manager. "We take them around the building and show them their areas. It gets them excited because they start to see their offices or workspaces and see it come together."
Workers are expected to start interior millwork next week and flooring later in January.
