Baraga County Memorial Hospital is getting hosting their annual Health and Safety Fair this Saturday.
This year the hospital is partnering with local emergency service providers to hold demonstrations of the various rescue techniques offered in the area.
They've also planned a Jaws of Life vehicle extraction and rescue re-enactment. More than 30 booths will be set up offering free screenings for blood pressure and posture as well as tours of the operating room and a texting and driving simulator run by the Michigan State Police.
"This is going to be a wonderful family fun event that really focuses on the health and safety," says BCMH health coordinator Pam Dove. "It's really something that we want to get out there in Baraga County, we don't always have a lot of the same resources in our community and so this is a wonderful opportunity to families to get out there and enjoy this together."
The Baraga County Memorial Hospital Health and Safety Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday.
