Sun, 05 May 2013 03:48:44 GMT — Marquette residents came to the Peter White Public Library Saturday to learn more about invasive plants. The Central U.P. Cooperative Weed Management Area lead a free workshop to educate the public. The presentation included visual examples of the many non-native invasive plant species present in Upper Michigan with an emphasis on garlic mustard plants. Visitors learned how best to eradicate certain invasive plants and how to prevent spreading them. If you are aware of a potential invasive plant infestation, report it to your local conservation district. The Alger Conservation District is leading a series of garlic mustard pulls in the near future.
