On Saturday, bright and early, fisherman headed out to Big Bay for an annual fishing derby.
By noon, one person reeled in a 30-inch pike, weighing in approximately 10 pounds. And another caught a 16-inch walleye.
But for many, reeling in the biggest catch didn't matter.
"We just came out to try and catch some fish and have a good time," said Gary Wautier, a Marquette father spending the day with his kids. "Just relax and enjoy the nice weather."
Over 300 people participated in the event hosted by the Big Bay Snowmobile Club.
The derby raises money for the club to groom the snowmobile trails in Big Bay.
