Bikers raise thousands for Red Cross

Wet conditions didn't damper the spirits of close to 100 bikers who spent Saturday joy riding the Upper Peninsula for the 5th Annual UP Ride for the Red.

Bikers paid a $35 fee to participate in the 180-mile ride.

All proceeds from the fundraiser are donated to the local Red Cross for things including single family home fires, blood drives, and health or safety classes.

"I feel good about it you know just the brotherhood and the money's for a good cause," says Detroit resident and biker, Don Reece,. "I hope its put to good use."

Last year the ride raised $8,000. This year organizers hope they can raise the bar to $10,000.
