When it comes to snatching that great deal, it's amazing what lengths people will go to get there. A video at the Wal-Mart in San Antonio, Texas shows an unbelievable crowd of people, and dozens of flat-screen TVs and X-Box Ones leaving the store. Though it may not have been as hectic in Iron Mountain Friday morning, the passion for bargain hunting was still very much alive.
â??This is my first time doing Black Friday,â?? said Delaney Harris. â??Itâ??s a really cool experience to come here and see everybody here just shopping.â??
Delaney saved up enough money on her own to finally buy the coveted iPhone, and she made sure she wasn't leaving the store Friday morning without it.
â??We left at about 4:30 a.m. and we got here at about 5 a.m., and we were the first in line, and it took a long time; it was a long wait. But we were the first ones in line, so it paid off,â?? Harris said.
While many of the Black Friday shopping actually took place on Thursday night, some people say they preferred to come a little later on Friday morning.
â??We got a lot of good deals,â?? said shopper April Fredy. â??We haven't waited in line, we haven't froze outside, this is good. This is just a tradition with my in-laws so we do this every year. We do it because it's fun.â??
Which is probably the best way to look at it, seeing as in other places, it got a little out of hand. NBC News reported that one man in Las Vegas was shot in the leg when a thief tried to steal his new flat-screen TV. Violence aside, many people in Iron Mountain said it was just a special time to come together with family and friends and grab some great deals.
