Sun, 01 Sep 2013 04:22:33 GMT — The Marquette Area Blues Fest is in full swing. Marquette Area Blues Society officials say the festival is a huge success so far. Friday's free concert, which is new to this year, reported over 3,000 visitors. They estimated similar numbers for Saturday. Several acts took to the stage from across the country. The fest also has plenty of food, merchandise, and even blues lessons. "This is really nice. In Alpena, we have something, the Blues Fest there, but nothing like this. I mean, this is just great," said Robert Cummings of Alpena, MI. Sunday is the final day of the festival, which finishes up after 10:00 p.m. Organizers say the show must go on, rain or shine, but performances may be postponed in the event of lightning.
