The Peter White Public Library held a special Bluesday Tuesday concert outside on the steps of the historic library Tuesday night. The Flat Broke Blues Band performed to a good sized crowd in downtown Marquette. The five piece band played a number of their original songs along with some well known Blues tunes. The Bluesday Tuesday series is sponsored by the Marquette Area Blues Society, and they say there's more good music in store for their upcoming Blues Fest this weekend.
"This is just a taste of what you're going to see this weekend at the Marquette Area Blues Fest, in fact Flat Broke is one of our bands playing this weekend. They'll be part of the Local Blues All Star Revue on Sunday," said Festival Director Mark Hamari. "I couldn't think of a better way to kick off Blues Fest Week."
The Marquette Area Blues Festival starts Friday with a free concert at Mattson Lower Harbor Park starting at 5 p.m., No ticket is required.
