The body of a 26-year-old man has been recovered from the Chocolay River.
A resident notified police at 11 a.m. Sunday of a body floating about 30 to 40 feet from shore near the bayou by West Main Street and US-41.
Officials identified the victim as 26-year-old Matthew Paul Schneider, of Negaunee.
According to the Chocolay Township Police, Schneider had been reported missing since Saturday.
The Marquette County Sheriffs' Search and Rescue team along with the Michigan State Police Crime Lab assisted in recovering the Schneider's body around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Autopsy results give a preliminary cause of death as drowning. No foul play is suspected, however, alcohol is a contributing factor in the death..
