The name of the young boy killed in Delta County on Sunday evening has been released.
The Delta County Sheriff's Department says 12 year-old Wesley James Rein of Brampton was killed when the four wheeler he was a passenger on collided with a semi tractor trailer.
The name of the 15 year-old driver of the four-wheeler will not be released to the public due to his age.
The Wisconsin semi driver is 48 year-old Scott W. Schwittay.
A young boy is dead after a crash in Delta County on Sunday. The Delta County Sheriff's Department was called out to M-35 near 26th Lane in Brampton Township Sunday afternoon at 5:11 p.m.When they arrived police found a 12 year-old boy dead from the collision. Their initial report shows the boy was a passenger on a four wheeler. The juvenile driver of the machine apparently was crossing the highway when he hit a semi tractor trailer. The four-wheeler driver received minor injuries. He was treated and released from St. Francis Hospital.Assisting at the scene were members of the Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division, an Accident Reconstructionist, Delta County Victim Services, Rampart EMS and Brampton Township Fire.The incident remains under investigation.
