The Marquette Golf Club hosted the 15th annual Bread and Putter golf outing on Thursday. The Marquette Alger Community Action Board puts on the event. Organizers say they hope to raise over $10,000 from the golf outing. All of the proceeds from the event will go to support Meals On Wheels in Alger and Marquette Counties.
"We're serving about 70,000 home delivered meals each year and that meal means so much to those individual seniors," Executive Director of AMCAB Earl Hawn said. "it's more than just a meal it's an opportunity for us to do a well being check, make sure that the senior is doing just fine."
Registration was $80 per golfer. Over 70 golfers showed up to participate. The event also had a raffle, live auction and artwork.
