      Brent Kaempf pleads not guilty

      Brent Kaempf has plead not guilty to first degree intentional homicide at his arraignment in Marinette County Circuit Court.

      Kaempf is accused of stabbing to death his 45-year-old girlfriend, Trish Waschbisch, inside her Peshtigo home last April. Waschbish was an advocate for victims of domestic violence. At the time of her death, she was the interim director at Rainbow House, a domestic violence shelter and advocacy group in Marinette, Wisconsin.

      Kaempf appeared in person for the first time to enter his plea of not guilty. He usually appears via video from the Marinette County Jail.

      A jury trial has been scheduled to begin January 28, 2014. The trial is expected to last 4 days.
