A new road construction project began Monday morning in Alger County. The Michigan Department of Transportation is resurfacing the M-28 Anna River bridge deck and replacing the bridge approaches.
This project is requiring lane closures, with both flag control and one lane of alternating traffic controlled by a temporary stop light. It is a $235,000 project, part of $44 million that MDOT is investing in Upper Peninsula roads and bridges this year. The estimated completion date for the work is Friday, July 19.
