The 14th annual Ore to Shore is sponsoring a t-shirt design contest for this year's mountain bike race.
Artwork is being solicited for the participant t-shirt given out free to all 28 mile, 48 mil, and 12 mile riders.
This year's race is on August 10. It will begin in Negaunee where iron ore was first discovered, travel past towering mine shafts, and end at the Lake Superior shoreline.
Race organizers expect to have about 2,500 riders this year. There is a cash prize for the winner, as well as expo booth space and copyright for the design.
"What we're looking for from artists is an electronic submission that can be placed on the t-shirt and/or other merchandise for the Ore to Shore, and we want to incorporate a theme of Lake Superior, mining, biking, and the beautiful country and landscape of Marquette, Ishpeming, and Negaunee Townships," said Ore to Shore organizer Nicole Dewald.
To submit an entry, email email@example.com . The deadline for entry submissions is May 1.
