Just before 2 a.m. Friday morning the Calumet Post Troopers responded to a 911 call that a man had been stabbed outside a residence on Hecla Street in Calumet.
Once on the scene authorities determined that the 25 year old male victim, from Laurium, had gotten into an argument with the stabbing suspect, 26 year old Kyle Huuki from Calumet, within the residence.
As the argument continued both men went outside where they got into a physical altercation. Huuki then returned to the residence where he obtained two kitchen knives before returning outside.
It was at this time that a witness within the residence heard the victim yell and the authorities were contacted.
Huuki was then arrested and lodged at the Houghton County Jail. He was arraigned Friday afternoon for assault with a dangerous weapon.
