The Country Village Cinema gave over 150 residents the chance to see two new movies Saturday morning and help those in need, all at the same time.
A donation of two canned goods was all that was needed to see either Anchorman 2 or Walking with Dinosaurs.
The theatre normally does this in December, but decided the need for food pantries is greater after the holidays.
"I thought it was a good deal to be able to get into the movies by bringing two cans of food," said Chantel Woodbridge, an Ishpeming resident. "We all brought split pea soup."
The donations collected will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul in Ishpeming.
Ccountry Village Cinema will have another food drive around Easter.
