The Kewadin Casinos have come up with a way for you to earn a little gaming money and help feed a neighbor at the same time. All this month the casinos have been giving out $5 worth of Kewadin credits to those who donate three non-perishable food items. Once collected the staff from the casinos weighs the donations. They're then dropped them off at St. Vincent De Paul and the Salvation Army Food Pantries in Alger and Schoolcraft counties.
"It gives people a chance to get out to help the community for a good cause and to come out, maybe enjoy some good food in our restaurants or maybe have a little gaming fun," said Shift Boss Dennis Peters.
The donations can be dropped off through December 1. There's a limit of one roll of tokens per day. Last year Kewadin Casinos received more than eight-thousand pounds of donated food items.
