It was a celebration complete with birthday cake, balloons, streamers and music. But, the backdrop was somber.
Family and friends of Bryan Mort gathered at his gravesite in Iron Mountain Sunday to celebrate what would have been his 20th birthday.
Mort was one of three teenagers killed when Scott Johnson opened fire on a group of swimmers at the Menominee River on the Wisconsin/Michigan border July 31, 2008.
Johnson has pleaded no contest to 10 felonies and will be sentenced to life in prison Thursday.
Mort's family and friends say there's still so much pain and anger over the loss of three young lives.
