On Saturday, Houghton and Hancock celebrated the beauty of America's diversity in the Upper Peninsula with the 24th Annual Parade of Nations.
"I enjoy coming to this event because itâ??s all cultures coming together," said Sarah Garver, a Native American. "We all get to know one another. "
Over 1,000 international students from more than 70 countries flooded the streets for the annual parade commemorating ethnic diversity.
"We are the Manhattan of Michigan," said State Representative Scott Dianda. "This is the Copper Country and the melting pot of Michigan."
It all ended with multicultural food and dancing and many even wore their native clothing.
