Wednesday evening was the pre-tournament party for Thursday's Beacon House Celebrity Golf Classic. The party started out under the big tent at the Marquette Golf Club, but had to be moved indoors due to thunderstorms in Marquette. National and local celebrities will be playing both the Heritage Golf Course and Greywalls. The golf classic serves as the largest fundraiser for the Beacon House.
"When we raised $108,000 last year, we were elated. We couldn't even imagine! It was only our second year, so this being our third year, of course, we made some changes," said Mary Dowling, Director of Development at the Beacon House. "We did a few things that people asked for; we tried to listen to what they said would make the experience even better, and we hope we've delivered on that."
The tournament is scheduled for a shotgun start Thursday at 10 a.m. Following the tournament, the 19th hole party will wrap up the events at the Marquette Golf Club.
