Hunters, anglers, and off-road vehicle riders will see a change in state licenses starting on March 1. The most notable difference will be a price increase on many state licenses. However, this is the first time in 15 years that an increase has taken place.
"One of the big benefits of this license fee change and the licensing restructure is that we are going to have more money to put into wildlife habitat, fisheries habitat, ORV trails. We're going to be adding more connector trails," said Debbie Munson Badini, Deputy Public Information Officer at the Marquette DNR.
The change aims to make it simpler for folks to know what type of license they need.
The DNR also added a new trail permit for off-road vehicles to ride on state designated trails.
