Sun, 14 Jul 2013 20:30:11 GMT — Gwinn residents ate some chicken to help support a local church Sunday. Grace Lutheran Church held a Croatian Chicken fundraiser. Money raised helps battle the church's debt from recent additions to the church. The church pre-sold 320 chickens from Croatian Village in Ishpeming. Many took their food to go, but some decided to have lunch at the church. "The meal is very good and it's a good cause for the Lutheran church to raise money for different projects, and the food is delicious," said Rita Aho of Gwinn. Grace Lutheran Church is currently about $340,000 in debt from construction. The church reports the new event was a huge success and that they plan to do it again next year.
