The case of accused child abuser James Thomas Cribbs is now under consideration of a Baraga County Judge.
But, not before the prosecutor had a final word.
In an 11-page rebuttal, the prosecution claims Cribbs is guilty beyond any reasonable doubt because he was alone with the baby and her injuries could have only been inflicted. He points out that all of the doctors who treated the girl not only suspected abuse; one doctor diagnosed it as shaken baby syndrome. He also wrote that the defense had confused "proof beyond a reasonable doubt with proof beyond all doubt." The judge is expected to issue a written decision.
