An eight-year-old child was exposed to chemicals used in the processing of methamphetamine on Wednesday morning.
According to the Michigan State Police, the child encountered a bottle of an unknown liquid while playing on playground equipment in Bachman Park in Iron River. Police discovered four additional containers in nearby Nanalmo Park.
Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team members were contacted to collect all items, which were determined to be meth precursor materials.
The eight-year-old boy was not injured.
This is the second site discovered this week, according to UPSET officials. Authorities discovered another meth dump site near Mount Marquette on Tuesday evening.
