The United Way of Delta County is getting ready for its annual Soup'r Chili Challenge Tuesday, September 10.
This year the Delta County United Way will celebrate the 19th year of the event.
Organizers sa id with 24 cooks registered, the amount of soup and chili dishes are almost evenly split right down the middle.
"It's a great way to learn about what the United Way Does and it's kind of our way of telling the community it's United Way Time and you're going to be seeing United Way information and we really need your pledges. It's also a good way to come and have fun and taste some really great soup and chili," said Julie Mallard, executive director of the Delta County United Way.
The event starts Tuesday at 5 p.m. inside the Ruth Butler Building at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba.
Admission is $20 for a family, $10 for ages 13 and up and $5 for ages 6 to 12. Children 5 years of age and under are free.
All of the money raised from the event will help the Delta County community.
