Christmas comes early for the Marquette Women's Center

During the month of October, donations for the Women's Center in Marquette were piling up at Cliffs Natural Resources locations. Friday, those donations were dropped off. Cliffs' newest initiative, called Cliffs Women's Connect, is working to help their female workforce connect, become leaders, and get involved in the community. Workers at Cliffs donated items on the Women's Center wish list for this project. Staff at Cliffs says this project is something they're very proud of.

"Especially through Cliffs Women's Connect, designed to empower and inspire our female work force, that goes hand-in-hand with what the Women's Center is trying to do as well. So it's a really good fit and we're happy to support it," said Jennifer Huetter of Cliffs Natural Resources.

In addition to the donations, Cliffs also presented the Women's Center with two $500 checks. "Those who donated didn't just follow the center's wish list, they followed their hearts," said the Women's Center Director Phyllis Loonsfoot.
