Christmas trees lighting up the library

The Peter White Public Library is inviting Christmas lovers of all ages to participate in its Winter Wonderland Walk.

The event will give you the opportunity to decorate Christmas trees and wreaths which will be put on display in the library.

The library is asking participants to register by November 27. The library said the event has been going on for more than a decade.

"It's become a Marquette tradition that people from all over the U.P. sign up for. We've had people from Escanaba and the Sault Ste. Marie, as well, wanting to be a part of it, and we really enjoy just the whole camaraderie of setting up the trees and decorating and bringing their family in from out of town," said Margaret Boyle, programming coordinator with the library.

If you are interested in decorating your own tree, the event starts Wednesday, December 4 from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information on how to register, click here or visit the Peter White Public Library at 217 N. Front St. in Marquette.
