The Cinder Pond Marina building in Marquette is one step closer to being torn down. Marquette City Commission has approved up to $260,000 to go toward phase one of the Cinder Pond reconstruction. The first phase involves demolishing the current building, relocating utilities, as well as establishing a temporary facility.
"We're going to take to the commission the proposals on Monday night, we've submitted them to our insurance carrier. So really we're waiting to see and get the approval from the insurance carrier prior to submitting a notice to proceed," said Karl Zueger, Community Services Director.
Currently there is no date scheduled for the demolition of the current building. Proposals are currently being sought out for phase one, however nothing will be established without the approval of the insurance company.
