City looks for senior advisory board

The City of Marquette is looking to form an Aging Service Advisory committee.

The new committee will be an ongoing service to look at the needs of seniors in the community. They will give advice to the city on what kind of services from which seniors could benefit.

Members are expected to continue carrying out the senior center facility plans. The city is looking for six candidates to make up the board.

"The committee will be comprised of a representative from senior housing, home health care, the health care profession, the YMCA, and two members of the general public. If anyone is interested, they can contact the city manager's office," said Jane Palmer, Senior Center.

If you are interested on being part of the board, apply by July 18.

They're hoping to form the committee by August.
