Dozens of climate experts joined Marquette city officials at the Ore Dock Brewery Thursday for a roundtable discussion on climate change.
A panel had a chance to speak about climate change and clean energy before a question and answer segment. Marquette Mayor Robert Niemi spoke about Marquette's partnerships with organizations to deal with climate change. They include the Superior Watershed Partnership, a sustainability committee and the county's own climate task force.
"So there is changing climate and we all have to be aware of that we all have to try to do our part to understand it and see how we might be able to deal with it or perhaps not exacerbate it," says Niemi.
Senator Tom Casperson was also there. The event was sponsored in part by the Michigan League of Conservation Voters.
