      Cliffs and Eagle Mine give more than $1 million through community fund

      Cliffs Natural Resources and Eagle Mine announced the contribution of more than $1 million to local organizations as part of the Marquette County Community Fund.

      The money comes from the second round of grant approvals from the foundation. Cliffs says more than $2.2 million has been earmarked for community projects and programs since the creation of the fund in 2012.

      "Once again in this funding round we had a number of high-quality grant requests to consider," said Dale Hemmila, director of public affairs in North America for Cliffs. "The projects chosen for support are diverse and represent a broad geographical area within the county."

      Contributions from the Cliffs/Eagle Mine Marquette County Community Fund include:
